P L A N . P R E P A R E . R E A C T .
As a horse owner or rider, it is inevitable that at some point you may be confronted by a medical emergency involving your horse. It may be a simple-minor cut or laceration or more complex like a fracture or colic.
Equine First Aid Courses are part of your on going learning about horses, preventative actions and habits, daily care and routines that will help you identify when your horse may need help and how to provide prompt emergency treatment.
A Solid Foundation
IN FIRST AID
Learning how to help your horse in an emergency is all about knowledge, practice and a being part of a horse community of resources.
Learning and preparing how to remain calm while responding to an emergency situation will be of great value to your horse and to others around you.
Practicing with your horse to accept treatments , like using a spray bottle to clean a wound or a cold hose for swelling, or taking your horse’s vital signs in a non emergent situation will help prepare both you and your horse for an emergency.
First Aid helps you:
Identify components of your First Aid Kit
Gets you thinking about how to access the appropriate type of help
